Troop 20628 in the Fountainhead Service Unit participated in World Water Monitoring Day and National Public Lands Day on September 24. The girls attended a wetlands program at Ijams Nature Center, then worked with an AmeriCorps volunteer to pick up litter along a trail and stream. They also monitored the stream’s water quality with a World Water Monitoring Day testing kit.
The Girl Scouts had a lot of fun while taking part in a worthwhile and important project. They also used this experience towards earning the Water Drop and Get With the Land patches.
Co-leader Tracy Hall sent in the photos. Enjoy!
