GSCSA Recognizes the Passing of a Beloved Employee

Dear GSCSA Family,

I am very saddened to share with you that GSCSA staff member Carlene Brady passed away early this morning (11-16-11). Carlene had been a long time Girl Scout employee and most recently served as 100th Anniversary and Alumnae Coordinator. She was loved and respected by co-workers and volunteers alike and will be missed.

The Girl Scout flag at each office will be flown at half staff through the end of the week in honor of Carlene’s commitment to Girl Scouting. In the coming weeks we will also be talking about other ways to honor Carlene’s Girl Scout legacy within GSCSA.

The funeral service for Carlene is Friday, November 18 at the Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the funeral service to follow. You may leave condolences at

Council offices in Chattanooga and Johnson City will be closed Friday for staff to attend the service. The Knoxville office, with its larger staff, will be able to remain open on Friday.

The CEO Brown Bag Lunch scheduled for Friday in Knoxville has been cancelled.

Please support each other and keep her family in your thoughts during this difficult time.
