UT Knoxville Hosts Gadget Girls

Put on lab coats and goggles for an up-close look at our world and fascinating experiments. The Girl Scout Council of the Southern Appalachians is partnering with the University of Tennessee Knoxville for “Gadget Girls.”

Girl will spend the day working with women scientists and mathematicians:

  • Use soil properties to match suspects to crime scenes.
  • Make a necklace of your own DNA.
  • Use plant tissue culture to generate new plants.
  • Grow crystals from household items.

“Gadget Girls” is for girls in grades 4-10. Troops and individual Girl Scouts must have a chaperone.

Snacks, lunch and parking will be provided. Student volunteers will serve as tour guides.
