2017 marks the 100th anniversary of girls selling Girl Scout Cookies and the celebration is kicking-off early with the Fall Product Program. Girl Scouts of the Southern Appalachians has appointed Amanda O. Merideth as Chief Operating Officer. Ms. Merideth will oversee all operations and mission delivery efforts for the region’s Girl Scout council. In addition, Laura Skonberg has been named Vice President of Communications.

Lynne Lawson Fugate, CEO of the Girl Scouts of the Southern Appalachians, attended the ceremonial bill signing of Senate Bill 2098. This bill will allow youth-serving organizations like Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts to speak with children during the school day—ensuring that children everywhere have the opportunity to join organizations that allow them to serve their communities and improve the quality of their lives.
