Teen Travel Opportunities
Mamma Mia! Our council is going to ITALY!
Mark your calendars for June 11-20, 2017, when girls and adults from GSCSA will take the Grand Tour of Italy with EF Tours, including visits to Venice, Florence, the Sorrento region and Rome. There are also trip extensions to Pisa and Capri available!
The trip is open to any registered Girl Scout 14 and older and/or female adult.
We started planning early to give you the most time to save up – and to provide the best rate possible. Contact Amanda Johnson for the most updated price information.
There are several payment plans available through EF Tours to make the trip more affordable. There is also a GSCSA Travel Grant available for up to $500.
While you are counting down the days, check out the itinerary here!
Come with us to sunny Pensacola Beach Florida for our second SCUBA trip in July 2016! The trip takes place July 10-15, 2016, and is open to girls age 14 and up. We will stay at Camp Kugelman, which is owned by the Girl Scout Council of the Florida Panhandle.
You will earn your Open Water Diver Certification by working with certified instructors in the pool and ocean. There is a written test on the first day of the trip that girls will prepare for before departure. Study materials will be provided.
- You must bring your own mask, snorkel, and fins, or purchase at the SCUBA shop in Florida upon arrival. High-quality gear is required for diving; we do not suggest purchasing discount brand snorkel gear, as it might not last.
- You must be a confident swimmer, and be able to pass a swim test consisting of: 200 yards swim (any stroke, no gear) without stopping and float/tread water for 10 minutes without stopping.
- You must bring your own water resistant / waterproof watch, suitable to at least 100 meters.
There is a mandatory pre-trip meeting June 25, 2016 at Camp Tanasi. This meeting is for parents and girls to ask the chaperones any remaining questions, fill out paperwork, and for girls to take a swim test.
Trip price is $975 per girl. It includes all transportation, meals, activities, lodging, SCUBA certification, and class.
The minimum number of girls required for this trip to take place is 6, and the maximum number of girls is 10. If the maximum is reached, there will be a $125 discount per girl, making the trip $850 per girl. Invite a friend and everyone wins! The $125 discount will only be offered if 10 girls participate.
A deposit of $150 is required upon registration, with final payment due by June 24, 2016. GSCSA Travel Grants of up to $500 WILL be accepted for this trip. Applications available here.
If you have any questions, please contact Teen Programs Manager Paula Irwin at firstname.lastname@example.org.
