Internet of Things

From color changing lights to garage door openers to smart refrigerators, more and more devices are connected via the Internet. So how does it work? Learn all about the Internet of Things and what it takes to control a light emitting diode (LED) through the Internet. You will build a circuit, program firmware, and create a webpage to control the LED. Sounds hard? Join the workshop and you will be an Internet of Things expert in no time.

Silver Award 101 Training

MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED

The Silver Award is the highest award a Girl Scout Cadette can achieve. Prerequisites: Completing a Cadette Journey and taking Silver Award 101 Number of hours: GSUSA suggests the project take at least 50 hours. Training: Silver Award 101 training is required, and it's available both online and in person.

Girl Scouts Get to Know Nuclear Patch Day!

The UTK chapter of Women in Nuclear is proud to host the "Get to Know Nuclear" patch! Join us for a day of science as we explore and learn about nuclear science, technology, and careers. Event if from October 27, 2018,10-1:30 on the UT campus. A boxed lunch and Get to Know Nuclear patch is included. This is a drop off event.  If adults want to attend, they will need to register.
