Camp Adahi

Camp Adahi encompasses 900 acres of picturesque wooded property located on Lookout Mountain in northwest Georgia.  A 10-acre lake and nine miles of hiking trails along with open fields provide plenty of room for traditional camp activities. Canoeing, archery, and swimming are available, and instructors and lifeguards are provided. Camp Adahi is also home to GSCSA’s Horseback Program.

Units

Unalyi
Maximum capacity: 80
Contains five cabins. Each cabin contains a front porch area, two bedrooms, and a bathroom consisting of three toilets, three sinks, and four showers. (Handicap accessible cabin has three showers). Each cabin sleeps 16 (four sets of bunk beds in each bedroom). Each cabin has portable heaters and ceiling fans.

Cabins are placed in a semi-circle around an enclosed unit house which contains tables and benches, a fireplace, and a kitchen with a wood cook stove, microwave, refrigerator, and coffee pot. Two fire rings with benches are located near the unit house. Wood is provided. The unit house has electrical outlets. Cabin #4 is handicap accessible.

Talahi
Maximum capacity: 40
Contains 10 platform tents (12′ by 14′). Each tent has four cots with mattresses. Tents are placed in a semi-circle around an enclosed unit house which contains tables and benches, a fireplace, and a kitchen with a wood cook stove, microwave, refrigerator, and coffee pot. It has one fire ring with benches. Wood is provided. The unit has hand washing facilities and four flush toilets. The unit house has electrical outlets. The unit house and tent #10 are wheelchair accessible. Hot showers are available at the bath house at the pool.

Ahwenasa
Maximum capacity: 80

Karakondye
Maximum capacity: 40

Tents are placed behind an open air unit shelter which contains four picnic tables, refrigerator, charcoal grill and wood cooking stove, and coffee pot. It has one fire ring with benches. Wood is provided.  Unit shelter has electrical outlets. The unit has hand washing facilities and four flush toilets. Hot showers are available at the bath house at the pool.

Pooh Corner
Maximum capacity: 40
Contains 10 platform tents (12′ by 14′). Each tent has four cots with mattresses. Tents are placed in a semi-circle around an open air unit shelter which contains four picnic tables, refrigerator, wood cooking stove, and a coffee pot. It has two fire rings with benches. Oneida Bass Staff House
Maximum capacity: 8
Facility includes a living area with fireplace, library, sectional, kitchen area with electric range, refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, toaster, storage cabinets, and table and chairs. Contains two bedrooms, one with three bunk beds with mattresses, and one with one bunk bed with mattresses. Full bath with tub and shower. Wheelchair accessible.

Director’s Cabin
Maximum capacity: 6
Facility includes a living area with sofa and chairs. Small kitchen area with refrigerator, microwave, and coffee pot. Contains two bedrooms, one with one bunk bed with mattresses and one twin bed, and one with two twin beds. Window unit air conditioner/hearters and ceiling fans. Full bath with tub and shower. Small screened porch.

Field Camp
An open five-acre field available for “bring your own” tent camping. Includes one large fire ring. A great place for sports and game activities, including a permanent volleyball net and basketball court.

Dining Hall
Maximum capacity: 150
Large assembly room with tables and benches. Can be used for meals as well as an assembly or meeting room.  Male and female bathroom facilities are available. Fireplace and ceiling fans.

Wilkerson Hall (formerly the camp office)
Large open room for arts and crafts. Tables and chairs for 12 people, plus bench seating along walls. One bathroom. Wheelchair accessible.

Hiking Trails
Nine miles of hiking trails are marked with colored paint on trees and signs. Hiking destinations include Chimney Rock, Shelter Rock, Flat Rock, and Deer Lodge. Trails are a great way to see wildlife and native plants, like mountain laurel and wild rhododendron. Trails are interconnected, and many combinations can be selected to give groups a variety of terrain and hiking distances.

Lake Adahi
Lake Adahi is a 10-acre spring fed, man made lake. Fishing and boating are available year round to Girl Scouts only.
