Camp Adahi Program Assistant

Do you provide extraordinary customer service? Would you enjoy being part of a nonprofit organization dedicated to girls and young women? Do you love the outdoor experience? If yes, the Girl Scout Council of Southern Appalachians is looking for you.

We are seeking a seasonal, weekend Program Assistant for Camp Adahi in Menlo, Georgia on top of Lookout Mountain.

Under direction of the Director of Programming, the Camp Adahi Program Assistant supports the council's outdoor program by helping to provide a safe and educational outdoor experience for girl and adult members who are weekend camping. This position will assist with camp programs as needed. Camp Adahi is located near Cloudland, GA. A private, rustic cabin with private bath, refrigerator, and microwave is provided for this position's use.

Communications Specialist (Chattanooga)

Do you have a passion for nonprofits? Do you love to write and generate enthusiasm in your audience?

If yes, the Girl Scout Council of the Southern Appalachians is seeking a candidate like you for its Communications Specialist role in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Under guidance of the Vice President of Communications, the Communications Specialist assists with internal and external communications systems, assesses their effectiveness and efficiency, and recommends structures, processes, strategies and projects to ultimately benefit GSCSA’s mission, vision and strategy. Serves as a creator and curator of content for a variety of internal and external communications related to Girl Scouting. Establishes strategy, creates content, and monitors all social media channels for council.

Creative and Digital Content Coordinator (Chattanooga)

Do you have a passion for nonprofits? Do you love to create graphic and web content and generate enthusiasm in your audience?

If yes, then the Girl Scout Council of the Southern Appalachians is seeking a candidate like you for its Creative and Digital Content Coordinator role in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Under guidance of the Vice President of Communications, the Creative and Digital Content Coordinator is responsible for the Council’s social media and is the Council’s internal and external webmaster. Serves as curator of content for a variety of internal and external communications, particularly focusing on graphic design, website maintenance, and digital communications. Assesses analytics, creates related reports and advises on communications systems and structures to benefit GSCSA’s mission, vision and strategy. Serves as social media liaison to and collaborator with other operational and functional teams, including digital lead generation on the national Customer Engagement Initiative.

Experience Manager (Knoxville)

Do you have a passion for nonprofits and for recruiting and supporting volunteers to positively impact the lives of girls? Is providing extraordinary customer service to volunteers, parents, and girls a high priority for you? If yes, then the Girl Scout Council of the Southern Appalachians is seeking a candidate like you for its Experience Manager role in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Under guidance of the Area Director, the Experience Manager provides ongoing recruitment, training, and mentoring to volunteers and parents by supporting them in the delivery of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) programs in keeping with GSCSA’s mission, vision, culture, and strategy. Serves as the primary point of contact for volunteers within the assigned region(s). Collaborates with volunteers to develop and implement initiatives that increase girl participation, address girl needs within local communities, and target underserved populations as identified and prioritized within each community. Utilizes strong command of Girl Scout knowledge to build exceptional volunteer teams, establish an effective communication plan, and present and promote council program offerings (including the fall and cookie product programs) as well as provide adult learning opportunities. Assists with measurable outcome evaluation of GSLE programs.

Seasonal openings for Camp Adahi and Camp Tanasi

Work some weekends in a beautiful outdoor setting. The following paid positions are available.

Seasonal openings at Camp Adahi:

Right Arrow

Horseback Instructor: Requires 2 years documented experience teaching horseback riding and/or Certified Horsemanship Association Certification.

Right Arrow

Canoe Instructor: Requires 2 years documented experience or American Red Cross Small Craft Safety and/or American Canoe Instructor Certification (flat water).

Right Arrow

Archery Instructor: Requires Level 1 Instructor or higher certification.

Right Arrow

Lifeguard: Requires current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.

Right Arrow

Kitchen Assistants: Requires current Serve Safe Certification.

Seasonal openings at Camp Tanasi:

Climbing/Rappelling Tower Instructor: Requires training on our tower, which is provided annually.

Archery Instructor: Requires Level 1 Instructor or higher certification.

All positions except kitchen assistants require current basic first aid training or higher AND CPR. Minimum age 16 years old.

Paid positions offer opportunities for weekend work. Scheduling of hours is based on activity requests by Girl Scout troops.
