Recruiter

Would you enjoy talking about the fun and excitement of Girl Scouting to potential new girl members and adult volunteers? Are you interested in seasonal part-time work? If yes, the Girl Scout Council of Southern Appalachians is looking for you.

We are seeking multiple recruiters in southwestern Virginia, eastern Tennessee, and northwestern Georgia who will share the benefits of Girl Scouting with girls and adults during school talks and parent nights this fall.


Multiple positions are available. Recruiters must be at least 18 years of age. Weekly schedules range from 12-20 hours from August through mid October and 4-12 hours from mid October through Thanksgiving and may include early mornings, afternoons, and/or evenings. Recruiters must have personal transportation to drive to assigned schools. Hourly Rate is $12.00.

Camp Adahi Program Assistant

Do you provide extraordinary customer service? Would you enjoy being part of a nonprofit organization dedicated to girls and young women? Do you love the outdoor experience? If yes, the Girl Scout Council of Southern Appalachians is looking for you. 

We are seeking a seasonal, weekend Program Assistant for Camp Adahi in Menlo, Georgia on top of Lookout Mountain.

Under direction of the Director of Programming, the Camp Adahi Program Assistant supports the council's outdoor program by helping to provide a safe and educational outdoor experience for girl and adult members who are weekend camping. This position will assist with camp programs as needed. Camp Adahi is located near Cloudland, GA. A private, rustic cabin with private bath, refrigerator, and microwave is provided for this position's use.

Seasonal openings for Camp Adahi and Camp Tanasi

Work some weekends in a beautiful outdoor setting. The following paid positions are available.

Seasonal openings at Camp Adahi:

Right Arrow

Horseback Instructor: Requires 2 years documented experience teaching horseback riding and/or Certified Horsemanship Association Certification.

Canoe Instructor: Requires 2 years documented experience or American Red Cross Small Craft Safety and/or American Canoe Instructor Certification (flat water).

Archery Instructor: Requires Level 1 Instructor or higher certification.

Lifeguard: Requires current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.

Kitchen Assistants: Requires current Serve Safe Certification.

Climbing/Rappelling Tower Instructor: Requires training on our tower, which is provided annually.

Paid positions offer opportunities for weekend work. Scheduling of hours is based on activity requests by Girl Scout troops.

Program Facilitator

Would you enjoy delivering Girl Scout programs to girls for a 15-week period or longer? Are you interested in seasonal part-time work? If yes, the Girl Scout Council of Southern Appalachians is looking for you. We are seeking multiple facilitators in the Chattanooga, Knoxville, Bristol, Johnston City, and Kingsport metro areas who will work with a group of girls once a week in a community-based location. Positions may have a known ending date or may be subject to whether funding is available for the site. Hours are typically late afternoons.

Troop Banking Specialist

Do you provide extraordinary customer service related to banking and finance? Would you enjoy being part of a nonprofit organization dedicated to girls and young women? If yes, the Girl Scout Council of Southern Appalachians is looking for you. We are seeking a Troop Banking Specialist for our service center in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Under guidance of the Chief Financial Officer, the Troop Banking Specialist provides high-level customer assistance to troops and service units with their banking needs. Prepares and maintains needed financial documentation on troop banking. Assists with investigations and documentation of troop banking concerns. Maintains and facilitates problem solving with troop payments for product sales and assists with other banking-related questions. Assists with other Finance Team responsibilities as assigned.

Vice President of Communications
