Program Facilitator

Would you enjoy delivering Girl Scout programs to girls? Are you interested in part-time work? If yes, the Girl Scout Council of Southern Appalachians is looking for you. We are seeking multiple facilitators who will provide programming to a group of girls. Positions may have a known ending date or may be subject to whether funding is available for the site. Hours are typically late afternoons/evenings on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

Multiple positions are available. Must be at least 18 years of age and be able to commute to assigned location(s). Hourly Rate is $13.00.

Seasonal Camp Staff
Seasonal openings for Camp Adahi and Camp Tanasi

Work some weekends in a beautiful outdoor setting. The following paid positions are available.

Seasonal openings at Camp Adahi:

Right Arrow

Horseback Instructor: Requires 2 years documented experience teaching horseback riding and/or Certified Horsemanship Association Certification.

Right Arrow

Canoe Instructor: Requires 2 years documented experience or American Red Cross Small Craft Safety and/or American Canoe Instructor Certification (flat water).

Right Arrow

Archery Instructor: Requires Level 1 Instructor or higher certification.

Right Arrow

Lifeguard: Requires current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.

Right Arrow

Kitchen Assistants: Requires current Serve Safe Certification.

Seasonal openings at Camp Tanasi:

Right Arrow

Climbing/Rappelling Tower Instructor: Requires training on our tower, which is provided annually.

Archery Instructor: Requires Level 1 Instructor or higher certification.

Lifeguard: Requires current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.

Kitchen Assistants: Requires current Serve Safe Certification.

All positions except kitchen assistants require current basic first aid training or higher AND CPR. Minimum age 16 years old.

Paid positions offer opportunities for weekend work. Scheduling of hours is based on activity requests by Girl Scout troops.

Day Camp Counselor
As a day counselor, you’ll be in the center of the action. Helping plan, teach, coordinate, and carry out activities while guiding campers in their personal growth. Your impact will help shape girls into leaders as they build courage, confidence, and character at summer camp.

Junior Counselor
Junior counselors are second in command when it comes to planning, teaching, coordinating, and caring for the campers. Working alongside the day counselors, you’ll get first-hand experience in what it means to be a leader encouraging those around you to become all they can be.

Health Care Manager
The health care manager is an invaluable part of summer camp each year. You make cuts and scrapes disappear, stomachs feel better, headaches vanish, and so much more. Without you we couldn’t run a healthy and safe camp program for girls. You can serve all six weeks or one-week sessions.

Programs Manager
This role sets the tone for each week and ultimately the entire summer. Without you, there would be no fun and adventurous summer camp experience for the girls. Managing program activities and events, you make sure every aspect is safe, fun, and appropriate for every grade level.

The Lead Archery Instructor will further the mission of the camp through management of the archery range and programing during archery sessions. This position oversees program activities that are safe, fun, and appropriate for rising 1st-12th graders.
