Every Kid in a Park

Every Kid in a Park

The National Park Service has issued a challenge to every fourth grader: GET OUTSIDE!

On Sept. 1, they launched the Every Kid in a Park initiative which is designed to encourage fourth-grade students to visit national parks, monuments and seashores, and historic sites. Even better than all that fresh air? Your visit will be free

Why are they doing this? Because research shows that going outside regularly cultivates curiosity and a sense of discovery about the natural world! WIN!

Fourth-grade Juniors can go to Every Kid in A Park, complete the activities designed just for their age group, and receive a downloadable voucher for her family to visit for FREE for one year.

When visiting a national park, be sure to check out the Girl Scout Ranger program. You can learn about the history of national parks, work on a Take Action project or badge, and more!
