In May, Girl Scouts of the Southern Appalachians held three inaugural Calling All Girl Scouts events. Hosted in Knoxville, Chattanooga, and Johnson City, each event was a fellowship opportunity for Girl Scout alumnae.
Focused around seeing old friends and making new ones, Calling All Girl Scouts was open to any level of alumnae, whether they were involved for one year or twelve. In addition to a networking opportunity, attendees had the chance to learn more about what Girl Scouts is currently doing for girls and their communities. During the evening, CEO Lynn Fugate spoke and recognized the recent Gold Award Girl Scouts who were in attendance.
At the Knoxville and Chattanooga area events, attendees had the opportunity to see artifacts from the Girl Scout Museum at Daisy’s Place on display. At the Johnson City area event, attendees were able to take a tour of Camp Wildwood and see the newly constructed camper cabins.
Girl Scouts of the Southern Appalachians hopes to turn these inaugural events into yearly traditions, so keep an eye out for future Calling All Girl Scout events!
