The Girl Scouts of the USA will celebrate its 100th Anniversary in 2012! To celebrate the arrival into its second century, the Girl Scout Council of the Southern Appalachians will host a big bash in true Girl Scout fashion: with songs. And we are proud to announce that the Girl Scout songstress, Melinda Caroll, will headline the event! Also, Whitney Kent from WVLT-TV will be our Master of Ceremonies for the event!
Since the Girl Scout movement was founded by Juliette Gordon Low in 1912, girls have used singing to celebrate friendship and their commitment to girls’ leadership. On Saturday, April 28, the Girl Scout Council of the Southern Appalachians will host its first-ever Sing-Along in downtown Knoxville at World’s Fair Park. This exciting event will feature singing Girl Scout song favorites, performances, games, food and most importantly, FUN! All Girl Scouts, friends and family are invited to attend!

*The event is rain or shine. If there is significant rain or hazardous weather, the event will be moved indoors to the Knoxville Convention and Exhibition Center located under the Holiday Inn World’s Fair Park hotel (adjacent to the World’s Fair Park Performance Lawn). If you are unsure of the location on April 28, please check the website for a final decision.
Advance tickets for the Sing-Along are $10. Day-of ticket cost at the gate is $15 (based on availability). Children ages 4 and under free. Everyone in attendance must pay the event fee.
Ticket cost includes entrance into the event, an official 100th Anniversary Knoxville Sing-Along commemorative patch, an event schedule, participation in activities such as face painting, inflatables, crafts, swaps, and a chance to sing-along to Melinda Caroll Girl Scout song favorites with thousands of other Girl Scouts. Food not included in cost. Concessions are CASH ONLY. (Bring about $10 per person for concessions.)
Day-of ticket sales at the gate may not be available if this event fills to capacity limit through online registrations (6,000).
Upon registration, please print out your confirmation and bring it to the event. We will have your name on a list but the confirmation will help speed your process along and verify your registration. You will be listed under the person who registered for you.
Please include the number of mobility impaired participants in the “Notes” section of registration.
Cookie Dough and financial assistance may be applied for this event, however 2011 Cookie Dough must be used by February 28, 2012. Unfortunately, 2012 Cookie Dough will not be issued in time to be used for this event.
Girl Scouts requesting financial assistance must have a parent or guardian call a Customer Service representative at 1.800.474.1912 or visit http://www.girlscoutcsa.org/content/uploads/Shop-Event-FA-Form.pdf to fill out a financial assistance request form. This must be received by the council by 4:30 p.m. on April 20 to count toward the event.
Girl Scouts requesting to use 2011 Cookie Dough for the event must send an Event Registration Form along with their Cookie Dough to Jen Sandie at Girl Scout Council of the Southern Appalachians, Attn: Jen Sandie, 1567 Downtown West Blvd., Knoxville, TN 37919; Cookie Dough must be RECEIVED by 4:30 p.m. on February 28, 2012. Or, you may bring your event registration form and Cookie Dough in to a Service Center by 4:30 p.m. on February 28, 2012 to be applied to this event.
Your spot is reserved when the Cookie Dough or Financial Assistance form is received and approved, NOT when it is mailed. Please include an email address so we may email you when the documents are received.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be submitted in writing by 4:30 p.m. on Friday April 20, 2012. Refunds will NOT be given for cancellations received after April 20 or for failing to attend the event. Your registration may be transferred to another troop or individual.

1:25 – 2:20 p.m. – Pre-Show
2:20 – 3:50 p.m. – Melinda Caroll Performance
4 p.m. – Event ends
*C2ncessions available from noon to 4 p.m. We will also have registration/check-in tables set up from noon to 4 p.m. for late arrivals.

Lodging: GSCSA has secured several hotel room block contracts for this event for both Friday, April 27 and Saturday, April 28. Click here to see information about the hotels that agreed to give us a courtesy room block and the rates for each. Most of the hotels listed have a Cutoff Date, at which time any unreserved rooms will be released back to the hotel for general sale, so make your reservations early!

Adult-To-Girl Ratio/Chaperon Guidelines: Arrange for proper adult supervision of girls. We encourage you to talk this over as troops to make sure you meet the adult-to-girl chaperone ratio. Make sure you read over the adult-to-girl ratio rules to make sure your troop will be covered.
