We remind you that you should have proper adult supervision of girls. Each bus has a leader, but you are responsible for your group/family according to who you registered with.
About the trip:
The package we have secured includes round-trip motor coach transportation from either Knoxville, Chattanooga, or the Tri-Cities, plus hotel accommodations, most meals, transportation within Washington, D.C., a tour guide and all tour fees.
The council has six busses traveling from Knoxville, Chattanooga and the Tri-Cities. Each bus has its own itinerary. If you are registered for the trip, you should have received an itinerary for your bus plus information about your bus leader. Email spope@girlscoutcsa.org if you have not received an itinerary and she will email one to you.
Registration for ROCK THE MALL must be done on your own through the Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital website, beginning in January 2012.
Departure times vary by bus. Departure locations are as follows:
Knoxville – Girl Scout Service Center – 1567 Downtown West Blvd., Knoxville, TN 37919
Chattanooga – Walmart, 501 Signal Mtn. Rd., Chattanooga, TN 37405
Johnson City – Girl Scout Service Center – 1100 Woodland Avenue, Johnson City, TN 37601
If you are leaving from Chattanooga, please arrive at your pick-up location at 7:15 a.m. on Thursday, June 7. The busses leaves promply at 8 a.m.
If you are leaving from Knoxville or Johnson City, your departure times depend on the bus you are traveling on. You should receive instructions on this, but if not, email spope@girlscoutcsa.org and she will tell you your departure time.
We strongly suggest carpooling or getting dropped off at the pick-up location. Do not leave valuables in your car if you choose to leave your car at the pick-up location through the weekend.
You should bring money for two meals on Thursday while traveling to DC, lunch on Saturday, and dinner on Sunday. You should also bring money for souvenirs, any extra attraction tickets, etc. that you may purchase.
