Join us at Camp Tanasi for Girl Scout University, where Girl Scout volunteers will come together to gain knowledge, develop new skills, meet new people, and have lots of fun! The weekend retreat begins Friday evening and ends on Sunday morning. Those who can’t make the full weekend are welcome to participate in the Saturday sessions only.
Saturday Only: If you are coming to the Saturday only sessions, the events begin at 8:30am and the day will end at 4:00pm
***IMPORTANT: Participants will choose a track to follow on Saturday. There are 3 tracks to choose from, each of which will be a “team” for the day and for a mystery activity in the evening. This registration page is for the Relationships track ONLY. Please return to the events calendar to see the remaining 2 tracks (Leadership and Environmental Stewardship). You can only register for ONE track.
Relationships Track: The Cooperative Learning Process and the Creation of Safe Environments
Session 1: Relationship Obstacle Course: Exploring peer pressure, cliques, gossip, and conflicts
Session 2: Role-modeling: The dynamics of interaction between adult Girl Scouts
Session 3: Girl Panel: Girls speak on a moderated panel
Session 4: Achieving High Awards: Increasing girls’ confidence and self-esteem
In addition to these sessions, traditional camp activities such as campfires, flag ceremonies, team building games, and a Scouts Own will be taking place throughout the weekend. These activities will be an excellent opportunity for new volunteers to connect with experienced volunteers and learn varied methods for traditional ceremonies and activities.
Final details will be sent with confirmation.
