Spend the weekend at Camp Tanasi and learn the valuable skills you need to take care of others in the backcountry. SOLO instructor, Matt Rosefsky, will lead the training. This 16- to 18-hour course is designed for anyone who may find themselves away from immediate help, having to rely on their own skills to help others survive and thrive in case of injury or illness, before help arrives. The learning blends classroom instruction, hands-on rescue scenario practice, and Q&A, resulting in SOLO Wilderness First Aid Certification (valid for two years).
Wilderness First Aid qualifies you as a Level 2 First-Aider.
If any part of an activity is located 60 minutes or more from emergency medical services or if a camping event has more than 200 participants ensure the presence of a Level 2 first-aider. Level 2 first-aiders pass the same course as Level 1 first-aiders, and also have emergency response/first response, sports safety, wilderness first aid, and/or advanced first aid and CPR training. This includes camping in remote areas, backcountry camping, wilderness hiking, boating trips, etc.
