The Girl Scout Council of the Southern Appalachians is partnering with the University of Tennessee for a one-day event on April 12, open to all girls in grades 4 – 10, called Gadget Girls. The girls will work side-by-side with female scientists and mathematicians in their laboratories, learning how soil properties are used to match suspects to crime scenes, making necklaces using their own DNA, learning to use plant tissue culture to generate new plants, and learning to grow crystals from household items. Student volunteers will serve as tour guides.
Grade Levels: 4th-10th grade and adults
Max number of Girls/Adults: 200/100
