Girl Scout volunteers have a profound influence on everyone they help.

Our volunteers are inspiring and invaluable. Quite simply, there would be no Girl Scouting without them.

Our girls recognize our volunteers every day in their smiles. And as those girls grow older, their achievements speak more for a leader or volunteer than anything else can. 

Even though watching girls grow into women of courage, confidence and character is its own reward, the Girl Scout Council of the Southern Appalachians also offers volunteers a chance to nominate those leaders, mentors, counselors, and staff members who have gone above and beyond to help girls. Volunteers may be nominated by anyone in their community for these prestigious awards.
