Camp Wildwood is located on 12 acres of woodland held in trust by The Harris Foundation. While the land is not owned by the Girl Scouts, it is available for their use for as long as there is an interest. We appreciate the Harris family’s generosity, which makes use of the site possible.
Camp Wildwood has an overnight tent capacity of 28 and a day use capacity of 160. There are seven platform tents located in the Ferndell area. There is a shower house with 4 showers and 6 flush toilets. There is electricity available at Ferndell, Tanglewood, White Oaks, Crestwood Shelters and in the Darlin Jones Cabin. Each shelter and the cabin are equipped with water. There are outdoor fire rings located at Ferndell, Tanglewood, White Oaks and the tent area. EMERGENCY NUMBERSFIRE, POLICE AND AMBULANCE -911 A cellular phone will be issued for emergency use for troop/groups staying in the tent area April-October. BARRIER INFORMATION: Paths are graveled and moderately accessible to anyone with minimal mobility restriction; paths not suitable for wheelchair travel. Ferndell program area is fairly easily negotiated. Toilet building and adjacent shower building have barrier-free toilet stalls designed to accommodate wheelchairs. Tent platforms do not have negotiable ramps. The Darlin Jones Cabin does not have a ramp and the threshold is not negotiable by a wheelchair. |
