Mayfield Dairy Gives $5,000 to Girl Scouts

Mayfield Milk and Girl Scout Cookies turned out to be a sweet combination for local Girl Scouts.

During the Girl Scout Cookie Sale, from February 15 to March 30, Mayfield Dairy pledged to donate a portion of milk sale proceeds to local Girl Scout councils.

Mayfield President Scottie Mayfield brought a $5,000 dollar check – and a lot of ice cream sandwiches – to the Girl Scout Council of the Southern Appalachians council headquarters in Knoxville to celebrate the partnership’s success with area Girl Scouts.

“Giving back to the communities we serve is important to us,” said Mr. Mayfield, “and this partnership lets us contribute to something very important—helping girls build courage, confidence, and character.”

“We couldn’t be happier with the results of this partnership,” said council representative Julya Johnson. “Mayfield’s support helps our troops operate camps and provide financial assistance to girls who can’t afford membership costs.”
