Relationship Manager (Johnson City)

Do you have a passion for recruiting adult and girl members and for supporting volunteers to positively impact the lives of girls? Are expanding opportunities for girl participation in a nationally known program and providing extraordinary customer service to volunteers, parents, and girls high priorities for you? If yes, then the Girl Scout Council of the Southern Appalachians is seeking a candidate like you for its full-time Relationship Manager role based out of Johnson City, Tennessee.

Under guidance of the Regional Director, the Relationship Manager provides ongoing recruitment, training, and mentoring to volunteers and parents by supporting them in the delivery of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) programs in keeping with GSCSA’s mission, vision, culture, and strategy. Serves as the primary point of contact for volunteers within the assigned region(s). Collaborates with volunteers to develop and implement initiatives that increase girl participation, address girl needs within local communities, and target underserved populations as identified and prioritized within each community. Utilizes strong command of Girl Scout knowledge to build exceptional volunteer teams, establish an effective communication plan, and present and promote Council program offerings (including the fall and cookie product programs) as well as provide adult learning opportunities. Assists with measurable outcome evaluation of GSLE programs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 1 year of related professional experience. (Significant professional experience in volunteer management may substitute for degree.)
  • Valid Driver’s License with personal transportation.
  • Experience with Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE), and/or experience with volunteers preferred but not required at entry
  • Maintenance of organizational membership throughout employment.
  • Bilingual Spanish a plus but not required.

Member Services Representative: Retail (Knoxville)

Do you provide extraordinary customer service via phone, in-person, and email? Are you eager to assist with customers on the phone and in-person? Are you organized and detail oriented? Would you enjoy being part of a nonprofit organization dedicated to girls and young women? If yes, the Girl Scout Council of Southern Appalachians is looking for you. We are seeking a full-time Member Services Representative for our headquarters in Knoxville, Tennessee. We offer regular hours, paid time off, and paid holidays.

Under guidance of the Retail Manager, the Member Services Representative is the first point of customer contact for inquiries via phone, email or in person, including retail shops. Responsible for providing the highest level of customer service to all current and prospective members, both external and internal, by utilizing all systems, policies, and procedures established by the Council. 

Hours are 8:30 am -5:15 pm Monday through Friday with one Saturday once a month.

SUGGESTED MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent knowledge.
  • At least two years of experience in providing prompt and courteous customer service in retail.
  • Regular and prompt attendance required.
  • Maintenance of Girl Scout membership throughout employment. Adult Girl Scout members may be female or male.
  • Bilingual Spanish a plus but not required.

Program Facilitators (Knoxville & Chattanooga openings)

Would you enjoy delivering Girl Scout programs to girls? Are you interested in part-time work? If yes, Girl Scouts of Southern Appalachians is looking for you. We are seeking two program facilitators who will work with groups of girls in community-based locations. Positions may have a known ending date or may be subject to whether funding is available for the sites. Hours are typically late afternoons and 10-15 hours a week.

Positions: Knoxville (1 position) and Chattanooga (1 position)

Must be at least 18 years of age and be able to commute to assigned location(s). Hourly Rate is $15.00-$17.00 an hour, depending on experience.
