Volunteer Development Manager

Do you have a passion for nonprofits, for teaching others, and for positively impacting the lives of girls? Are you successful at providing extraordinary customer service, developing and delivering excellent training for adults in a variety of delivery methods, and meeting performance goals? If yes, then the Girl Scout Council of the Southern Appalachians is seeking a talented Volunteer Development Manager like you based out of its Chattanooga Service Center. Under guidance of the Director of Girl Experience, the Volunteer Development Manager collaborates with external partners, Girl Scouts of the USA, and all Council teams to design, develop, and deliver highly effective training content to improve volunteer, parent, and girl member satisfaction and retention.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

·        Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in education, business, English/communications, or a related field. (Significant professional experience in training/education may substitute for degree.)

·  At least two years of experience in creating and/or delivering training to adults.

·  Valid Driver’s License with personal transportation.

·  Experience with Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) preferred but not required at entry.

·  Maintenance of Girl Scout membership throughout employment. (Adult Girl Scout members may be female or male.)

Under guidance of the Regional Director, the Relationship Manager provides ongoing recruitment, training, and mentoring to volunteers and parents by supporting them in the delivery of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) programs in keeping with GSCSA’s mission, vision, culture, and strategy. Serves as the primary point of contact for volunteers within the assigned region(s). Collaborates with volunteers to develop and implement initiatives that increase girl participation, address girl needs within local communities, and target underserved populations as identified and prioritized within each community. Utilizes strong command of Girl Scout knowledge to build exceptional volunteer teams, establish an effective communication plan, and present and promote Council program offerings (including the fall and cookie product programs) as well as provide adult learning opportunities. Assists with measurable outcome evaluation of GSLE programs.

Member Services Representative

Under guidance of the assigned department head, the Member Services Representative is the first point of customer contact for inquiries via phone, email or in person, including retail shops. Responsible for providing the highest level of customer service to all current and prospective members, both external and internal, by utilizing all systems, policies, and procedures established by the Council.
