Outdoor Program Facilitators

Would you enjoy delivering Girl Scout outdoor programs to girls? Are you interested in seasonal part-time work? If yes, the Girl Scout Council of Southern Appalachians is looking for you. We are seeking outdoor program facilitators at our camp locations in Johnson City and Andersonville, Tennessee, and on Lookout Mountain in Georgia. Hours are usually on Saturdays in the fall and spring. Responsibilities are dependent on activities available at each camp. Multiple positions are available. Paid training is usually provided. Annual background check required.

Regional Director

Do you have a passion for nonprofits and for positively impacting the lives of girls? Are providing extraordinary levels of customer service and meeting goals high priorities for you? Do you instill excellence in your team members? If yes, then the Girl Scout Council of the Southern Appalachians is seeking a candidate like you for our Director of Appalachians Highlands Region based out of our Johnson City Service Center. This position is responsible for managing full-time, part-time, and seasonal staff covering Johnson City, Kingsport, Bristol, and surrounding counties in Tennessee and Virginia.

Under guidance of the Vice President of Membership and Programs, the Regional Director manages and provides ongoing recruitment, training, and mentoring to volunteers and parents within a geographic area by supporting them in the delivery of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) programs in keeping with GSCSA’s mission, vision, culture, and strategy. Supervises staff in assigned area. Collaborates council-wide with staff and volunteers to develop and manage initiatives that increase girl participation, address girl needs within local communities, and target underserved populations as identified and prioritized within each community. Utilizes strong command of Girl Scout knowledge to build exceptional volunteer teams, establish an effective communication plan, and present and promote Council program offerings (including the fall and cookie product programs) as well as provide adult learning opportunities. Assists with measurable outcome evaluation of GSLE programs (including fall product and cookie sales). 

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of related professional experience.  
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Experience supervising multiple direct reports.
  • Proven track record in successful sales or fundraising preferred. 
  • Maintenance of Girl Scout membership throughout employment. Adult Girl Scout members may be female or male.

Product Services Coordinator

Do you have a passion for nonprofits? Do you love Excel, providing amazing customer service, and all things Girl Scout cookies? If yes, then the Girl Scout Council of the Southern Appalachians is seeking a candidate like you for its Product Services Coordinator in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Under guidance of the Director of Product Programs, the Product Services Coordinator collaborates with other members of Mission Delivery to ensure a high-quality product program experience by girls, volunteers, and parents in keeping with GSCSA’s mission, vision, culture and strategy. Responsible for coordinating with other members of the Product Programs Team and cross-functional staff on Council-wide vendor databases and customer relationship management (CRM) software, customer service, communication, inventory management, and distribution related to product programs. Collaborates with Relationship Management Teams to build strong relationships with product volunteers and to solve interpersonal and financial issues that may arise during product sales.

  • Associate’s degree or higher in a related field. (Significant related work experience may substitute for degree.)

  • Previous experience in Logistics, Finance, Sales, Customer Service, Database Management, and/or Program Management a plus.

Member Services Representative

Do you provide extraordinary customer service via phone, in-person, and email? Are you organized and detail oriented? Would you enjoy being part of a nonprofit organization dedicated to girls and young women? If yes, the Girl Scout Council of Southern Appalachians is looking for you. We are seeking a  full-time Member Services Representative for our service center in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Under guidance of the assigned department head, the Member Services Representative is the first point of customer contact for inquiries via phone, email or in person, including retail shops. Responsible for providing the highest level of customer service to all current and prospective members, both external and internal, by utilizing all systems, policies, and procedures established by the Council.

Programs Manager

Do you have a passion for nonprofits and for positively impacting the lives of girls? Are you successful at providing extraordinary customer service, developing and delivering great programs virtually and in-person, and advising girls as they earn the Gold Award, Girl Scouting’s highest award? If yes, then the Girl Scout Council of the Southern Appalachians is seeking a Programs Manager like you based out of its Knoxville Service Center.

Under guidance of the Regional Director, the Programs Manager is responsible for membership growth through quality program delivery, including prospective member engagement, existing member support, alternative program delivery, program partners, camp programs, and implementation of national programs. Plans, coordinates and/or delivers Girl Scout virtual and in-person programming from Council staff and program partners. May supervise part-time staff who deliver programming during the school day, in the evening, and on the weekends. Regularly serves as backup to these staff.
