What are Destinations?

It’s a term sometimes used to describe the three options in the Travel Pathway. But basically, Destinations mean TRAVEL!

Three kinds of trips are available:

  • Trips designed for individual Girl Scouts from across the nation and globe; includes domestic and international opportunities
  • For girls age 11-18
  • Home councils (that’s us!) send girls’ applications to the trip sponsor
Due to us by November 13 (for Round 1) or February 5 (for Round 2)

  • Short-term domestic travel for Girl Scout troops or groups
  • Apply directly to the event sponsor
  • Ages vary; see event listings

International Events

  • WAGGGS programs and international events for troops and groups hosted by international scouting and guiding organizations.
  • Apply directly to the event sponsor
  • Ages vary; see event listings

How can I help pay for the trips?

Glad you asked! In addition to participating in the Fall Product and Cookie programs, individual Cadette, Seniors, and Ambassador can apply for our council’s Travel Grant. It’s a grant of up to $500 to go towards any of the three types of GSUSA Travel (Destinations, Getaways, or International Events) OR a council-sponsored trip (a trip that our council plans and puts on).

Applications are awarded on a rolling basis.
