Alcatraz East Crime Museum

Explore American history from a different perspective in five unique galleries that burrow deep into criminal profiles, the penal system, victim’s stories, crime prevention, forensic science, law enforcement and our justice system. The museum is 25,000 square feet, spread over 2 floors and includes over 100 interactives. Alcatraz east features several badge programs & other events including sleepovers and girl scout appreciation days for girl scouts throughout the year!

Apple Store at West Town Mall

Attend Group Sessions at the Apple store where staff can assist troops in earning badges such as Digital Movie Maker, Digital Photographer, computer coding badges, and even drawing badges. These sessions are free for the troops. Visit their website to book a session for your troop. The group session times are pre-scheduled with the rest of our Today at Apple classes and are available for anyone to book. To book a session online: select Product > 60 minutes > Getting Started with iPad. Once you’re on the Getting Started with iPad page, select the date and time from the choices and fill out your contact information. Apple will reach out to you to finalize all the details.

Children's Museum of Oak Ridge

Come to the Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge to participate in badge workshops, work on the Secret City Heritage patch, and go on a scavenger hunt to earn the Children’s Museum patch. We can help you with badges like Jeweler, Pottery, Safe Sitter, Letterboxing, and more!

The Climbing Center

The Climbing Center offers a variety of climbing options to suit different abilities and ages. The Climbing Center is a full gym complete with bouldering, top ropes, and lead climbing as well as training equipment. Girls can visit to work on their climbing badges. Davy Crockett Riding Stables

Offers guided seasonal trail riding opportunities in the Great Smoky Mountains between March and November. Visitors can schedule trail rides ranging from a half hour to a half day. Girl Scout groups can request a free demonstration prior to a trail ride where an experienced guide will offer an overview of horse care basics so that girls can fulfill the Horseback Riding badge requirements.

Faith N Friends Horse Day Camps

Come out to the farm and enjoy our equine Day Camps. Includes horse riding, fun activities, arts & crafts, horse education and team building. All participants need to complete a liability waiver. You should bring a snack, lunch, and a water/drink. We have seating in the barn, heating and A/C if needed, rain or shine. Each camp is 3 days, 9:00am-1:00pm.

The Great Smoky Mountain Heritage Center

The Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center offers tours of Native American and Early Appalachian history in the Smoky Mountain region. Living history demonstrators and knowledgeable docents provide an in-depth look into the past of our area, providing hands-on activities along the way. Many festivals and events add extra visitor engagement opportunities throughout the year. Advanced registration is required for docent-led tours and activities. Self-guided tours are also available. Ice Chalet

Girl Scouts receive $2.00 off Ice Chalet regular admission price for any public skating session. Please tell us your troop number when you arrive to receive the discount. Days and hours vary; for schedule, please visit our website. Visiting Ice Chalet is a great activity for Daisies and Brownies working on their Snow Adventure badge.

Learn to ice skate or play hockey at the Ice Chalet! Girl Scouts receive 20% off group classes and group hockey instruction. We have classes throughout the year. Please give us your troop number when you register to receive the discount.

Knoxville Botanical Gardens and Arboretum

The Knoxville Botanical Gardens and Arboretum is a historic 47-acre venue in east Knoxville, which has formal, community, and educational gardens with urban agricultural service opportunities and event space available. Some badge work available by request.

Knoxville Museum of Art

The Knoxville Museum of Art offers educational programs and events to Girl Scouts of all ages. Volunteers can schedule a docent-guided tour of KMA’s exhibitions or an art workshop that meets requirements for the following badges: Potter, Jeweler, Book Artist, Textile Artist, Painting, Drawing, Comics, Collage, Photographer, and many more. A minimum of 12 girls is needed for a workshop.

Learn to Quilt in Day with Chanda Keith

Chanda Keith is a Quilt in a Day certified teacher that would love to introduce girls and adults to this fun art form. Chanda has several project options depending on interest and skill level. Price does not include some materials needed for the class and sewing machines are not included*.

*Example: For Introduction to Quilting class, batting and backing will be provided, but girls will need a sewing machine, a package of 20.5” squares, 1/3 yard of cotton fabric for the borders, thread, and pencil/paper for taking notes. Walmart and Joann Fabrics are great resources for these materials.

Mental Health Association of East Tennessee

The Mental Health Association of East Tennessee provides education to middle and high-school-aged adolescents about mental-health related topics, including but not limited to: bullying, stress, mental illness signs and symptoms, and suicide prevention. Some goals include reducing the stigma associated with mental health conditions and providing youth with the tools they need to help themselves or a friend. There is no cost for services and we will work with groups to design a training that best meets their needs. Youth education programs can fulfill the requirements for the "Resilient. Ready. Strong." patch.

Navitat Adventure Park

This unique, treehouse-based canopy adventure has you climbing, balancing, crawling, and zipping through the trees in south Knoxville, in the heart of Ijams Nature Center! Navitat wants to thrill you with our obstacles, educate you with our unique themed trails, and inspire you to learn more about the environmental heritage of the southern Appalachians, all while having tons of fun with your fellow Girl Scouts. Oak Ridge Computer Science Girls

Oak Ridge Computer Science Girls' mission is to inspire middle school girls in East Tennessee to actively explore the possibilities of technology to empower their future careers and to close the gender gap in the technology profession. Oak Ridge Computer Science Girls offer regular in-person and virtual learning opportunities, where girls grades 5-10 are introduced to programming technologies like coding, cybersecurity, virtual reality, text mining, AI, fractals and much more!

Onsight Rock Gym

Onsight Rock Gym is excited to offer discounted day-passes to all Girl Scouts coming in to climb. Day-passes are a quick and easy way to experience indoor rock climbing on your schedule and time. Our staff will get all girls and parents set up with an orientation that will demonstrate the safe and proper way to climb. (We ask that all climbers wear closed-toed shoes!) Girl Scout day passes are available Monday - Friday before 6:00pm and Saturday/ Sunday all day. We also offer a Girl Scout patch, group climb nights, and team bonding.

Our Place Art is a 501c3 non-profit organization established to enrich the lives of individuals with and without disabilities through the arts. Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies

Ripley's Aquarium offers Girl Scouts one-of-a-kind experiences such as Sleep with the Sharks and PJ Party with the Penguins events. These events are available to both individual Girl Scouts and troops. Ripley’s Aquarium also hosts Girl Scout Days where Girl Scouts and their family receive discounts on tickets to the aquarium.

Smoky Hollow Outdoor Resort

At Smoky Hollow Outdoor Resort, you can go camping with the modern amenities of home. We have authentic Conestoga covered wagons, Sioux style Tipis, and a log cabin to stay in. All are heated and air conditioned with luxury bedding. Smoky Hollow can accommodate 24 guests in beds and an additional 4 in cots or sleeper sofas. We also offer discounted tickets to Soaky Mountain Water Park in the summer months.

Girl Scouts have the option to add-on a free animal encounter experience with our pet chickens, turkeys and fainting goats. This is a great opportunity to learn about caring for livestock, and Brownies can earn their Pets badge. Girl Scouts are also encouraged to take advantage of our hiking trails (suggested badgework: Daisy Trail Adventure, Brownie Trail Adventure, Brownie Hiker, Junior Trail Adventure). WonderWorks offers discounts for groups that fit the following criteria: minimum of 10 Girl Scouts (and 2 volunteers), register in advance, have one person paying for the entire group. A participation patch is included with each admission. This "amusement park for the mind" includes more than 100 interactive exhibits.
