In this hands-on program, Girl Scouts will learn from a park ranger how to prepare for a hike to the river and what they should be looking out for when they are by the water. A park ranger will guide Girl Scouts on a hike to the river as they investigate what lives beneath the surface of the water and how those creatures help us understand the health of the river. You will be using dip nets and lifting up rocks to search for fish, insects, mollusks, and more in the shallow shoals of the river as part of a river exploration game. This is a great opportunity to learn about aquatic ecosystems while Juniors and Cadettes work on their trail adventure badge and earn the GSLSP patch!
Juniors can also use part of this adventure to work on their Animal
Habitats Badge.
Cadettes can also use part of this adventure to
work on their Eco Trekker Badge.Badges/Patches are available of
purchase in our shop.
