Our Camps

Camp Wildwood

Camp Wildwood in Johnson City is located on 12 acres of woodland held in trust by The Harris Foundation. The camp is next to the Girl Scout Leadership Center, so it's easy to access and close to everything.

Camp Tanasi

Camp Tanasi is located near Andersonville on Norris Lake. Camp Tanasi is 461 acres of beautiful wooded property with cabins and tents, a waterfront program area, pool, archery, hiking trails, and a climbing tower. It is the home of our overnight summer camp.

Camp Adahi

Camp Adahi is located on 800 wooded acres atop Lookout Mountain. The camp features a junior Olympic-sized pool, a lake, and nine miles of hiking trails. Shelter Rock, a natural amphitheater, has been a popular place for girls since the camp was built.

Camp Reservations

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists when people are together in-person. By participating in Girl Scouting, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

How early can I make a reservation? toggle arrow

Troop camping reservations are required at least 2 weeks out from your arrival date, however, our camps fill quickly and we suggest reserving as far in advance as possible.

Reservations for the Spring Season open the first Monday in October.
Reservations for the Summer Season open the first business day in January.
Reservations for the Fall Season open the first Monday in May.

When are camps open for use? toggle arrow

Camp Wildwood is open from April through October.
Camp Tanasi is open from March through the 3rd weekend in November.
- Closed during June and July for summer overnight camp
- Closed the 1st weekend in November
Camp Adahi is open from April through October
- Closed May – July for C5 Summer Camp (actual dates dependent on leasing camp’s dates)
All camps closed for Major Holidays:
- Easter
- Memorial Day
- July 4th
- Labor Day

My troop is camping at a GSCSA camp – what do we need? toggle arrow

Each troop must have:

One Outdoor Basics-trained adult per unit who remains on site the entire stay.
One first aid/CPR/AED-trained adult who remains on site the entire stay.
All campers and adults must be registered Girl Scouts in the current membership year OR additional insurance purchased for any non-Girl Scout participants.
A security deposit of $100, paid to GSCSA.
A completed reservation and payment.

My service unit is camping at a GSCSA camp – what do we need? toggle arrow

Your service unit encampment coordinator should make the reservation and payment as one reservation. Troop volunteers and parents are responsible for giving the coordinator all requested forms and payments. Each unit must have the same required number of trained volunteers per unit as troop camping, listed above.

How many people does each unit hold? toggle arrow

It varies by unit. Please visit the pages for each camp for more details on how many people its units will sleep. We ask that you do not exceed the set capacity, as it is designed with safety in mind.

Can we sleep in the unit shelter or dining hall? toggle arrow

We discourage members from using the unit shelters or dining halls for sleeping arrangements, except in the case of emergencies, including when severe weather occurs and attendees need to move to an indoor shelter. Do not include these buildings when planning the number of people a unit can accommodate.

When is my reservation processed? toggle arrow

Reservations are processed in the order they are received. As soon as you pay your deposit, the units and activities you reserved can no longer be rented by another party.

What if I need to change/cancel my reservation? toggle arrow

In the spirit of allowing as many girls to camp as possible and to minimize the overbooking that sometimes occurs, we are implementing a refund policy for cancellations or changes reducing the number of reservations.

If a reservation is cancelled/changed to fewer units by the volunteer, troop, or service unit, the following refund policy is in place for check-ins starting August 1, 2024:

91 calendar days or prior to check-in day: 100% refund of original booking (or 100% of portion that was cancelled)
90-31 calendar days prior to check-in day: 50% refund of original booking (or 50% of portion that was cancelled)
30 calendar days or less: No refund; any remaining unpaid amount will need to be paid

What if I want to do archery/boating/swimming/use the climbing tower? toggle arrow

These activities are required to be staffed by GSCSA council staff and will be available several times a year at Fall and Spring Council Camporees, Girls in the Woods, and other council-sponsored events offered at our camps. We do not have the capacity or staffing levels to offer these activities on other weekends. However, the council events mentioned are a great opportunity for every girl to experience these activities individually or with their troop under the guidance of staff.
