Girls who participate in this program will join park staff and volunteers for our Responsible Recreation Program. Participants will compete in an exciting challenge, which will allow them to apply their skills in concepts such as Leave No Trace, Bear Aware and Know Before You Go. The goal is to navigate through the park to reach their assigned campsite and set up camp. This program WILL be held rain or shine.
Participants are asked to wear appropriate clothing for the weather and comfortable walking shoes. They may tour the museum for a historical adventure of what life was like in the late 1800's.
Girl Scouts (Daisies-Ambassadors) will earn two patches after attending this event.
This is a free event, but registration is required!
Patch Details:
- Girl Scouts Love State Parks (GSLSP) Patch is NOT included but may be purchased by visiting the Knoxville shop or emailing info@girlscoutcsa.org. Don't forget your GSLSP Passport!
- Girl Scouts Love Virginia State Parks patch is NOT included but may be ordered, at no cost. After your visit, visit Girl Scouts Love Virginia State Parks and complete the form from September 12-30, 2025. Please note: responses submitted prior to September 12 will not be recorded. This patch will be postage mailed.
