Summer Stack Club
Due to incredible demand, registration for the 2023 Summer Stack Club is, remorsefully, CLOSED.
We know you’re disappointed, and we are, too. Despite this being a virtual, free program for Girl Scouts, it isn’t exactly a virtual, free program for us at the council level to run. We must order patches, print bookmarks and congratulatory letters, and then mail all these things out to Summer Stack Club participants. Doing so for more than 4,000(!) of you is the max that we can handle this year. When we made that first social post for this year, we had NO idea it would take off like it did and garner SO much interest from the Girl Scout community at large!
We are certainly thinking ahead to next year and how we can go about ensuring that all girls who want to participate and earn a patch can do so. With that being said, if you didn’t get to sign up, there’s nothing to stop you from reading lots of books this summer! You are welcome to use our carefully curated and fabulous Summer Stack Club Reading List to get some ideas of what you might want to read this summer. Check with your local library, too, and see if they are offering a summer reading program for kids.
If you did sign up to participate this year, remember that to earn
the patch, girls need to:
- Be registered for the Summer Stack Club (no registration = no patch)
- Fill out this patch order form (so we can be sure to send you the correct patch and/or rocker)
- Read for at least 20 hours total between June 1 - August 1
- Read at least 2 books off of our SSC Reading List (see below) during that timeframe
Completion of the patch requirements is based on the Girl Scout Honor system; no need to report anything to us. Patches will be mailed out starting in late August. (So make sure your mailing address is accurate on MyGS!)
If you'd like, you can download and print out this fun log sheet for your own tracking purposes: Log Sheet >>>
Knox County Girl Scouts: You can also participant in the Read City USA "All Together Now" year-long reading challenge. Books read June 1 - August 1 can count for Read City USA AND the Summer Stack Club! Learn More >>>
